Van Metre is preparing to move their corporate headquarters to the new Stone Ridge Professional Center. The Library will occupy the first two floors, and Van Metre will take the 4th floor for offices and their new Design Center. The move is planned for late November. It's going to be tough to concentrate on work though. The view overlooking Stone Ridge and the mountains is spectacular. Welcome to Stone Ridge Van Metre employees! You'll love it here.

On Saturday, Oct. 22nd, hundreds of residents and Stone Ridge “wanna be” residents came out to take Family and Pet Photos with our Green Screen. It was a beautiful day, and true to any Stone Ridge event, everyone came out to play. There was the Boulder Dash to entertain the kids, custom street signs, leather bracelets, and military dogtags to make. Brats, dogs, and pretzels fed the crowd. Pics were Photoshopped onto one of 5 backgrounds people picked and are available for download here.

The community of Stone Ridge has come to the aid of fellow residents, The Brann Family. They lost their Van Metre home to a tragic fire Sunday, July 31st. The propane tank on their grill exploded. Fortunately, everyone got out of the house safely, but the home is a total loss. Maureen Bradham, a Stone Ridge resident who doesn't even know the Brann's, has set up a special FaceBook page to tell people what they need and how they can help. Please do whatever you can to help. The Stone Ridge 5K Run for Education started again, for the fifth time under the tri-colored balloon arch (gold, black, and white). The gusting white whipped the balloons back and forth as more than five hundred youngsters started the day with a 1 Mile Fun Run. This year the race started further up the road, near the middle of the shopping center. 
The Village Center Plaza was jam packed and though most of the kids did the fun run, there were scores of young ones lined up front behind the ChronoTrack timing mats.Click here for the full story.

Children's National Medical Center today honored the Van Metre Companies for their donation of $1.2 million to fund a state-of-the-art cardiovascular surgery operating room. The Van Metre Companies, a privately held residential and commercial property development company based in Washington, D.C., have supported the cardiac surgery program at Children's National over the past 25 years, giving more than $1.7 million during that time.

After almost a decade of debate, Loudoun supervisors on May 10 unanimously approved the county’s second full-service hospital.
StoneSpring Regional Medical Center—a 337,000-square-foot 164-bed hospital to be located at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Gum Spring Road near South Riding – is slated to open in 2015, according to officials with Hospital Corporation of America, the facility’s developer.

HealthSouth Corporation has broken ground on a 40–bed rehabilitation hospital at Stone Ridge. HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital will employ approx. 200 people and offer the latest rehabilitative medicine, as well as private rooms.
